Due to generations of racism, Roma families often face severe poverty, unemployment, and a lack of access to health care, education, and other services. Because of these factors alongside many cultural values that lead to the marginalization of girls, Roma girls are extremely vulnerable to human trafficking and exploitation.
Set Free partners with Free Methodist missionaries and with both Roma and Bulgarian leaders. Healthy families and communities not only stand against abuse and exploitation, but also teach men, women, and children their value and purpose in society.
Protecting Roma & Bulgarian Girls
The St. John’s Home for vulnerable girls who are at-risk to human trafficking creates access to education, health care, and vocational training in a safe, spiritually rich, loving, family environment.
Churches are a strong line of defense against human trafficking. A holistic approach is taking place whereby churches are being planted, leaders are being developed, and discipleship is happening. Transformation of lives and communities is taking place.
Thousands of people each year are learning to identify and address human trafficking and abuse in their neighborhoods.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the Free Methodist Church in the USA. The majority of our work is done through partnerships. We work with 100+ agencies in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. We believe human trafficking cannot be solved by only one organization or denomination – we’re all in this together!
